I have lived and loved all things vintage for as long as I can remember...
Don’t be afraid to email me if you are looking for something in particular, because over the years, I have developed an incredible number of connections with other dealers and collectors so I may just be able to find what you’re looking for.
I have lived and loved all things vintage for as long as I can remember. I guess it started when I was a little girl visiting my grandmother on school holidays. Her home was incredible and smelt like furniture polish and hot tea, it was like a magical world with marble sideboards a topped with intricate epergnes and elaborate figurines sat on mantelpieces. One thing we knew was we were not to touch anything. So, without touching I studied everything, how the ornate Victorian carved timber furniture glowed and how to tell Viennese porcelain from English. However, the one thing I learnt over all others was that I wanted to touch! I tried so hard to imagine how jasperware would feel, how exquisite cloisonne vases would feel. I remember thinking I will hold these things one day. I’ll never forget the first time I held a Copeland Spode jasperware tea set, I had saved and saved, finally it was mine and it felt incredible.
Since then, I have bought and sold innumerable antiques and collectables and really found my niche. Slowly I began to focus my collecting to the mid-century time period, the years from around 1945 through to about 1975 (there is a lot of conjecture about what years fall into ‘mid-century’ however I tend to go with those.) Slowly my fashion sense started to change, I wasn’t following the ‘trends’ of youth fashion as I grew. I chose skirts and blouses with a sweet cardigan and heels. I felt feminine and beautiful but most importantly I fell authentically ME.
Over time my erratic collecting became refined. I choose to focus on Italian glass specifically Empoli genie bottles, Fire King Peach Lustre and Pyrex. I have developed an in-depth knowledge of most 50’s, 60’s and 70’s collectables, architecture, decor and fashion. My wide knowledge base has placed me in a perfect position to pass on my deep love of mid-century design to others.
As I dress daily in vintage style, I tend to draw attention which in turn opens the channels of communication with the public. I often find people seek me out if they are helping their parents downsize and ask me to have a look at what they have. This has given me a unique opportunity to bring exquisite mid-century items into the homes of fellow enthusiasts. So, pull up a Contour Chair by Featherston, check the time on a Junghans Starburst wall clock, pour yourself a cuppa from a Figgjo Lotte tea set and have a look at what we currently have in stock.
